Question and Answer

Question:

When are the best times of the year to fish for perch from shore in Barrie?

Answer:

Hello Elias,

In my view we will typically be approaching the best time within a few short weeks Elias.  As water temps begin to cool and daylight hours diminish, the yellow perch in Simcoe begin to congregate into large schools once again.  They ’set-up’ at various locations around the lake ... and Kempenfelt Bay out of Barrie is definitely one of them. I know October can be very good for shore fishing and the action can remain hot (even when the weather is cold) right thru the month of November.

Hope that helps and good luck with perch this fall.

Wil
