Hi David, Hey ... I hope all is going well since I saw you at the Junior Bassmaster Tournament in August on Bass Lake and that you have caught lots of nice fish since then. You know ... I'm really not 100% sure what the official records for bass are on Lake Simcoe ... mainly because there really isn't an official source to document lake by lake records. For smallmouth I am pretty sure that one caught by Wayne Izumi several years ago came in between 7-8 pounds and I know another angler who caught a largemouth over seven as well from Simcoe. Still, these are not official ... There's no question that Lake Simcoe is recognized across North America as one of the world's finest trophy smallmouth bass lakes and many feel it has the potential to break the Ontario all time record weight of 9.84 pounds. In fact the annual Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open tournament (out of Orillia on Oct 23rd, 2010) has offered an exceptional prize package (worth thousands of dollars) within this one day event, should anyone break that record. So ... sorry I couldn't offer you specific records David ... but I hope this gives you a little more info on the big bass of Lake Simcoe. Wil
