A detailed look at each tournament Wil fished in an exciting Angler of the Year race that went right down to the wire until the final tournament of the season.

The Aurora Bassmasters pride themselves in “Being more than just another fishing club”, and have become well known for their conservation and research projects, their community involvement and their dedication to engage today’s youth on a path that includes the outdoors and fishing. However as a member of this club since it formed in 1995, I can tell you- that we definitely like to fish and love to compete in our club tournaments!

A full field of 110 boats with 220 anglers blasted off on a beautiful Saturday morning October 22nd to try and catch the heaviest five bass they ... or anyone else, had ever seen weighed in during a Canadian Bass Tournament. Last year, the same could be said ... and the winning team of Mark Moran and Joey Muszynski set the all time Canadian record with an incredible 31.5 pounds worth of smallmouth bass.

2011 Law Enforcement Fishing Classic

On June 5th, 2011 I fished my first 'open water' tournament of the season. It was the 2011 Law Enforcement Fishing Classic (LEFC) on Lake Simcoe and was hosted by the Toronto Police Association.

The High’s and Low’s of my 2010 Tournament Season

Wow ... 2010 was quite a year! I’ve been a hard core tournament junkie since the first year I bought an aluminum Spring Bok bass boat with a 30HP outboard. That was 1986 and I used it extensively until the mid 1990’s when I upgraded to a Nitro Bass Boat.

On June 6th, 2010 I fished my first 'open water' tournament of the season. It was the 2010 Law Enforcement Fishing Classic (LEFC) on Lake Simcoe and was hosted by the Toronto Police Amateur Athletic Association and the Toronto Police Association. Over 120 participants came to fish this Northern Pike tournament and support the two charities that benefit from the proceeds of the LEFC.
