In the early fall of 2008, my wife and two grown sons had an opportunity to vacation at Deer Hurst resort and fish the Tri lakes of Vernon, Penn and Fairy Lakes. I had fished these lakes several times in the past and knew how productive they were for exceptionally large northern pike. This time though, we would be focusing our fishing efforts on bass – both largemouth and smallmouth.
